Assistant Site Supervisor (12-month)
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Manager / Senior Manager of Projects Department, and oversees daily construction site operations, ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervision & Instruction: Lead and supervise main contractors and subcontractors’ responsibilities.
- Safety Management: Inspect sites, eliminate hazards, enforce safety rules, and handle accidents per protocol.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure work meets design specs., building codes, and contract conditions.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor progress, manage schedules, and report to Construction Managers and Project Managers.
- Administration: Maintain records of attendance, site reports, and project progress.
- Coordination: Negotiate with various internal and external stakeholders, i.e. Projects Department team members, internal departments (Leasing, Marketing, Property Management, etc.), external partners, tenants, design consultants and contractors, etc.
- Two Assistant Site Supervisors are assigned to Day Shift (9:00 AM–7:00 PM) and Night Shift (11:00 PM–9:00 AM), 6 working days per week on a monthly rotation for the Day/Night shifts.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience Requirements
- Diploma or Higher Certificate in Building Studies, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field. Non-degree tertiary education may be accepted with sufficient experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ post-graduate work experience on commercial projects. With more experiences may be considered for post of Site Supervisor.
- Certifications: Safety certifications are highly advantageous, such as a Professional Safety Certificate or a Construction Safety Supervisors Certificate. CPR and first aid certifications are also valued.
- Skills: Ability to read drawings, knowledge of building codes and safety regulations, proficiency with construction tools/equipment, and strong leadership and communication skills.
